It is both my pleasure and my passion to stand beside others so they might be heard, to help limit their suffering, and bring about a meaningful resolution to their case.

ashleah howard | Why I Practice Law

The older I get, the more obvious it becomes how the systems in processes we’ve created fail so many. It’s frustrating to fit every aspect of our lives into a box manufactured by and for someone else. Like so many others, I, too, have had experiences in life where I’ve felt overlooked or even discarded. The frustration, the pain, and the deep discouragement those experiences caused fueled the engine that brought me to the work I do. It is both my pleasure and my passion to stand beside others so they might be heard, to help limit their suffering, and bring meaningful resolutions to others.

When I work with a client,
we are a team, and they are my priority.

No one is ever prepared to be injured in an accident, and it’s the last thing anyone needs in our already hectic and demanding lives. I work to provide peace of mind to my clients by zealously advocating for their needs, answering the hard questions they have, and taking on and resolving conflicts so that my clients can focus their efforts on making a quick and full recovery.

About Ashleah

Ashleah - Candid #1

An Austin, Texas native, Ashleah carries the life experiences having been raised by two working parents who grew up through the segregation era. As a psychiatric nurse, Ashleah’s mother instilled the importance of caring for others. Ashleah would sometimes join her mother on home healthcare visits as a child, helping and caring for those who were unable or otherwise limited in caring for themselves.

During her undergraduate program at Texas State University, Ashleah volunteered as a Court Visitor. As a Court Visitor, she would visit the physically and mentally disabled living in state-owned and operated group homes and evaluate their resources and living conditions for improvement. To this day, this is one of Ashleah’s most valued experiences in her life.

After graduating from law school at UNT Dallas College of Law, Ashleah moved to Oregon to continue her community work with the Metropolitan Public Defender Community Law Division. Here, Ashleah took cases of all kinds, representing those who struggled to rebound after having contact with the criminal justice system.

Since her move to Oregon, Ashleah has fallen in love with the diverse climate, food, and winter sports Portland has to offer. Recently, Ashleah has taken up snowboarding in addition to her love of painting and cooking her favorite southern and Tex-Mex dishes.

Team Work

Pat & Stephanie
Stephanie - Candid

Meet Stephanie

Stephanie has been part of the Bridge City Law legal team for nearly three decades and has assisted several of the attorneys in the office over the years. Her contribution to the firm, compassion and advocacy for our clients, exemplary paralegal skills, and case management are second to none.

Stephanie is exceptionally smart, detail-oriented (we call her eagle-eye), and dedicated to supporting our clients in recovering from their injuries, navigating the complexity of their personal injury claim, and pursuing the best possible outcome for their case.

Ensuring that our clients feel heard, respected, and valued is one of Stephanie’s core strengths. She is a problem-solver, a caring co-worker, a mentor for the other paralegal’s in the office, and someone you can always count on to not only get the work done but do so in a way that best supports our client’s cases.

It’s unusual to have an employee who is fiercely loyal after nearly 30 years. We know how fortunate the firm is and our clients are to have someone a part of our team with such valuable experience and who genuinely cares about the people she works with and the work she does.
